WHITENESS

In June 2020, after the worldwide Black Lives Matter protests, several companies like Unilever and l'Oreal decided to remove the words whitening, fairness, and lightening from all their skin products. But that’s not enough because the products remain the same. Decolonization is still very much needed. So stop being the sweet smiling advertised girl.

MAYONNAISE

Solo show of paintings and ‘war rugs’ with jars, tubes and bottles of mayonnaise. A series inspired by wordsmith Daryll Landbrug, a Black activist who uses other words than 'racist' when protesting against the white elite (because he got blocked by Facebook using the word), so he invented creative metaphors like 'white washing powder elite', 'snowmen brigade' and ‘Mayonnaise ltd.’
